I love to read. But sometimes it’s hard to squeeze a significant amount of time into a book. Thus, you can always find me in the magazine section in any store perusing practically every subject matter. Magazines are packed with powerful nuggets that you can read at the traffic light, DMV, barbershop, dental office, etc. I came across Money: 101 ways to make $1000 in Barnes and Noble and I must say, it was a very intriguing and educational read. It’s one of those issues that presents the reader with a slew of practical money saving and investment tips.
We are in an entrepreneurial age, where a lot of people realize that freelance, home-based businesses and creating multiple streams of income is the way of the future. Nevertheless, there are a lot of motivational speakers and top business executives shouting, “Sleep when you’re dead” or “Are you willing to sacrifice sleep?” This is analogous to asking, are you willing to sacrifice your health for wealth…um no. You don’t need to lose sleep to get work done for your business—sometimes you might—but you need to be more productive while you are awake. Therefore, you must create a daily, weekly, and monthly schedule for yourself. Cut back on your favorite television shows, wake up earlier to get more done, and be consistent. Sleep is just as important to your overall health as eating nutritiously and exercising regularly. There is no point in accumulating wealth if you’re not around long enough to enjoy it. I’ll be sleeping well tonight knowing that in the morning I’ll be operating at an optimum level. I’ll sleep while I’m alive.
